All Tifon Gas Stations in Croatia Now Accept Cryptocurrencies – Featured Bitcoin News

Forty-six Tiphon gas stations in Croatia have reportedly started accepting payments in cryptocurrency. Paycek’s payment processor allows customers to pay in various cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and Ether.

  • Tifon gas stations in Croatia started accepting payments in cryptocurrency in early February. There are currently 46 Tiphon filling stations in the country.
  • Paycek, a service from Croatian fintech startup Electrocoin, will process cryptocurrency payments for Tifon. According to his website, Paycek supports bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), XRP, stellar (XLM) and EOS.
  • Payments in cryptocurrency are converted into fiat currency at the time of purchase. For example, if a customer buys gasoline for 400 crowns ($64) and pays in cryptocurrency, Paycek processes the payment and Tifon pays in Croatian kuna. Mr. Tiphon says he would not take a risk in any way by accepting cryptocurrencies.
  • Ana Locas, CFO of Typhoon, stated: Although crypto payments are still in their infancy in Croatia, with the introduction of this payment method in all Tifon branches, we expect it to grow and develop further, especially during the tourist season, given the more frequent habits of foreign customers to use this type of payment.
